Spiritual Diaries Part Two

(Note; I was very young in my Christian life when I wrote these. I was fresh from revival in the AOL chatroom, and my life began to change in Christ. I have matured since then, and no longer look to experiences and false CCM music. In short, I grew up.)

I had copied and pasted these from email files I had written to send out to people. That is why they are shifted to the left side. Sadly, to my knowledge, only one person truly appreciated them.

Run to the cross. Flee towards it, and fling down the baggage of sin. Then LEAVE IT THERE.

How many times have we heard these words? In sermons, through friends, and of course, by God Himself. Walking with the Master isn't like going through the metal detectors at an airport. You don't place your load on the belt, and have it go through, and then pick it up on the other side. No! With Jesus, you lay your burdens at His cross. Then you go on WITHOUT them!

Why? Because He wants you pure, and single-minded... and obedient. You cannot follow His example and be dragging your past sins and cares along behind you on a rope! Don't you realize that this will make you falter, and fail? Your desire to do right will weaken. Your strength will be gone, dried up like a potsherd. Your running the race will be reduced to a gasping on the sidelines!

Now repent, and take a reviving drink of the Living Water, Who is Jesus Himself. He hasn't left your side. He has been patiently waiting for you, eyes a little misty from concern, but waiting. He is still there for you. Get up, drop the load at His feet, and keep up with His powerful, power-giving strides.

I sometimes wonder what it was like to actually walk with Jesus when He dwelt on earth among us. I know He was very tall, maybe six-and-a-half feet, and His strides must have been very long, devouring up the miles throughout the land of Israel. To walk beside Him, and look up into His face... To see Him, ALMIGHTY GOD IN THE FLESH, smiling down on you... To hold His big, strong, healing hands in yours, the very hands that brought forth the stars and causes the hinds to calve... Ahh, what a privilege and a blessing that must have been! It makes me weep to think of these things.

But let me offer you a word of comfort to you today. Someday, very soon, we will have our heavenly reward. In the meantime, we must strip off the burdens and cares of this miserable world, and cast them at Jesus' feet, and remain faithful to His Word. A crown of gold awaits us, my friends! Let us not cease to strive for the prize.

As that lovely hymn reminds us: "Run to the Cross, Run to the Cross. There you will find God's love divine. Run to the Cross. That Blood-stained place of Love and Grace. God now awaits. Run to the Cross." Let us walk alongside Jesus through this life, holding His hand and letting Him lead.

Don't waste another moment trailing baggage. Give it to Him today, and you will discover that He can shoulder it far better than you can. You will win the race. Just follow Him.

Dear Lord, thank You again for this ministry. In it, Your words are healing and blessing to those whom they touch. I thank You this day, Lord God, for placing me here. It matters not who or how many read these messages, as long as I obey You. This is my calling, and I thank You for it. And as these dear ones walk with You, Lord, help them realize that You are the One Who can take away all sorrow and pain. Urge them, Heavenly Father, to leave their burdens behind, and to straighten up and walk beside You, with renewed vigor and determination. For only when we are totally focused on You can we be the ones who bless, and help, and comfort others. Because it is You, Lord Jesus, Who works through us. Work through us now, O Saving Lord of grace. Bind us together with cords of love. We will praise You in the multitude, and in solitude. Thank You for this day, dear Lord. In Jesus Name, amen.

We all need a Savior. Jesus Christ, God in human flesh, came to pay the ransom for us on the cross. He took on our sin, and shed His precious blood, and was raised from death; so you and I could be forgiven, healed, and have everlasting life. Pray this simple prayer now, and be born again. Jesus is holding out his hand, ready to save.

"O God, I know I am a sinner. I ask You to forgive me, and to come and live in my heart. I believe You are the Christ, the One Who saves. I accept You as my Lord and Savior as of right now. Thank You, Lord Jesus, for saving my soul. In Jesus' Name, amen."

Expecting the unexpected. Sounds foolhardy, doesn't it? How can that possibly happen? When we expect something, that usually means we want it, and now. We want everything in an instant, without delay. Instant meals, instant gratification, and we will go to any lengths to get it.

Unfortunately God doesn't do expectancies. He isn't into the "instant scene". He has His own timetable, in a timeless existence our limited minds know nothing about. He already knows our needs, and our wants. In fact, God already knows how and when our life is going to end! But that doesn't stop Him from desiring what's best for us, and whether or not we make changes.

I believe change is good. I also believe God is in control of all things. Most people don't want to change. They think they are just fine living their lives, expecting things to go their way, and not heeding the voice of the Almighty, saying, "Come back to Me." Nope.

People are like sheep. Ever think of that? They do what everyone else does, and want to be satisfied... but when one falls into a ditch, what do the others do? Fall in themselves, and drag others behind them! Sheep are the dumbest creatures in God's  universe. Because we like sheep have gone astray, and are so stupid in our own ways, we need a Shepherd to guide us in the right way. And that Shepherd and Way is Jesus Christ. He is the Door to Eternal Life.

Many sins there are in this corrupt world. satan has gone crazy, and defiled much of humankind in multitudes of ways I do not wish to mention. All because we want things OUR WAY. But thanks be to God for His Son, Jesus Christ! For now we have a Bridge to lead us to the Father, restoring us to His original plan of constant communion and peace. Too bad not many take this Bridge to eternal salvation. They deny it, and condemn it as foolhardiness, saying true Christians are "fanatics" or "mislead", or otherwise too-far-gone-out-of-our-mind-WACKO to even consider.

Even some so-proclaimed Christians are not immune to sinfulness. Remember we live in a corrupt world, where sin is rampant, and the devil is as a roaring lion seeking out the weak. They are loose, and lackadaisical, and don't seem to have the time to lend a helping hand to those weaker than themselves. You know who you are, and in which category you're in.

Are you a sinner, so caught up in your own selfishness that you purposely block out all Holy Spirit conviction of your sin? Are you lukewarm, thinking, "Oh, I go to church, I sing the hymns, I even tithe.. but I don't want to get TOO INVOLVED..."? Or are you on fire for Christ, wanting only what He wants? Thinking His thoughts? Hearing His voice? Obeying His commands?

Do you pass by a homeless man on the street, and go around him? Do you avoid even looking at him because you cringe in disgust? Or are you like the good Samaritan, and drop what you are doing to help this poor one?

God knows the heart of every man. He knows what you are thinking, and your every intention. Why do you think you can fool Him? Why do you expect your way? It is as chaff in the wind, and dross to be burned up in the fire.

We need a Savior. Every one of us. Why not give yourself to Jesus today? Repent of your selfish ways, and submit to the Maker of the universe.

Other religions won't help. The New Age movement is futility. Mormonism, Islam, JW's, Roman Catholicism, universalism, outright atheism and any other "false-ism" out there are ALL the broad way, the wide gate to destruction, hell-bound. They are all ditches in which countless people have fallen, never to get out - unless they open their eyes and recognize the bleeding Hand of Christ that was pierced through for them, reaching out to save them.

"I AM THE WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE." These are the words of the One Who saves, Jesus the Christ, the Son of Almighty God. He is the One Who is expecting YOU to do some changing. Change your life. Cleanse your heart. Expect no more, other than the salvation of your eternal soul. Repent now. You will never be disappointed again, if you believe.

Father God, thank You for this new day. My prayer today is for those whose eyes remain closed, and ears stay stopped up. I pray, Lord God, that You liberate them in some tangible way that they will know is from You. We know You are the giver of miracles, Lord, and we ask now that You manifest Your Holy Spirit to these lost. Cause them to feel the emptiness in their life, a void that can only be filled by You. You created us with a hunger for things Godly, for peace and communion with the All-Powerful. We have not lost that hunger, but so many, O Lord, fail to realize that their man-made ways and religions are NOT the way to everlasting life. But satan has been defeated by Your supreme sacrifice on the cross. Only You, Lord Jesus, are that Way. You died for us, and You desire NONE to perish. Purge these ones, Lord God. Heal them of their blindness, and break the chains of bondage. Crush the enemy under Your feet! Then they will know that You are GOD, and will praise and glorify You alone. I thank You, Father, for using me for Your work today. Through Jesus Christ I pray, amen.

We stand on a world enveloped in chaos. Everywhere there are manifest signs that God's judgment is coming quickly. We must not falter, nor give up hope. Yet there is surely a light at the end of this tunnel. And His Name is JESUS. The King Who is to come, at Whose feet we will ALL bow and worship.

Another event has come to pass which woke up the average Joe, even for a brief time. The massive power outage on August 14th, 2003 which involved 50 million people has gotten the attention of many. It was seemingly a flashback to 9/11 two years ago, when thousands ran through the streets of New York in chaos and despair. But I personally must THANK GOD that this wasn't such a terrible experience as then.

Yet, two days later, we still don't know the outcome. When I heard of the news, I dropped what I was doing and said a prayer for the people involved. When I got wind of this power outage. I dropped what I was doing and I prayed for the people involved. And my prayers were answered, in God's own mighty will and way, yes, I know they were answered. I saw the faces of those walking down the highways, and they were actually smiling! People waved at television cameras and just seemed to be a good spirits. Surely this was NOT the case back on 9/11!

But apparently God isn't finished with this experience. I wonder, were there Christians out there who clear as day heard the still small voice of the Holy Ghost, and took time to witness to some of the wandering crowd? Had anybody fallen on their knees and accepted Christ as their Lord and Savior on the dusty highways, in the midst of the shuffling feet? Only God Himself knows.

We still need Jesus, no more and no less than when tragedy strikes, and when it seems all hell is about to break loose, people seem to want Jesus more. They seem to know by instinct that God can take away their pain and sorrow. They look to a higher power than themselves for relief and peace. But they will not have true peace unless Jesus is their Lord. Only He can give us life, and life to the full.

God breaks us and remakes us, whether we want Him to or not. He wants our attention, and He will get it, even if He has to use force. This event has captured media attention, and I pray with all my heart that it will not be forgotten. I pray it will not be glossed over, then thrown out with yesterday's trash.

We are so fickle in ourselves. I tell you, there was a reason for this happening. I don't know what it is, but I know for certain that it is for God's Glory. May the Sovereign Lord of heaven and earth open our eyes, hearts and minds, and teach us to be more aware of His presence in our life. May He help us to be attuned to His will, to which we can gain wisdom in His Word.

Life is so brief, and it soon passeth away as a vapor. Let us work while there is still light to see by.  O Lord, let me be Your light today, for we know not how many moments we have left. Shine through me into the darkness of the human soul. Use me to bring more into Your Kingdom. Father, I thank You for souls saved, be it yesterday, a week ago, and tomorrow. I thank You for hearing our prayers, I thank You for dwelling in our praises. Thank You for guiding every one of these people to wherever You have them go. You are Almighty God, in complete control, and I praise You for it, my Lord and my God. In Jesus' mighty Name, amen.

Though we cannot relive the past... We are being blessed by the future... We can't travel back in time... But we can make this moment count... Only God knows the big picture up there... We are just trundling along at ground level.. But realize that it's His hand that is leading us... One day at a time.. And every day my love grows stronger, for Him, and for you, my friend... Let's live for Him today, and not worry about the morrow.. For tomorrow has its own worries... And hey.. Jesus can come back any time now... :) Be still, be still, and know that HE is GOD...

He took on our sin, and shed His precious blood, and was raised from death; so you and I could be forgiven, healed, and have everlasting life. Pray this simple prayer now, and be born again. August 25, 2003

There is a time when we do not feel worthy of the Lord's blessings. When we don't want to do as He says, and resist, thus quench, the Holy Spirit. I know we have all been through it. We doubt, we complain; we stutter and moan. We think, oh, I USED to be a good Christian when (fill in the blank.) We "kick against the pricks." What does all this accomplish? What does hanging on to the past do for us? Nada, Nathan, NOTHING!

I must admit here, I was getting comfortable sending those old Diaries. Then out of nowhere, my comfort zone disappeared. I ran out! Where'd they all go? So now I must make up a new one, and I have to say, it's harder than I thought. I want to do that, but LORD... I don't wanna be kind to that homeless person... I don't WANNA take my kids to the playground... I don't wanna, DON'T WANNA, NO, NO, NOOOO!! Sounds like a child's temper tantrum, doesn't it?

You know, if we could be recorded doing our every day thing (and we most certainly ARE), and have the tape or video played back for us, I think we'd do a lot of SQUIRMING. Oh, was that ME? I don't know HER... but she sure LOOKS LIKE ME... Ever hear of CANDID CAMERA? (That was a TV show back in the 70's.) Well, guess what. YOU'RE ON IT!!

Listen here. The ONLY way to avoid embarassment on God's wide screen is to follow the Master. I'm talking, Obedience 101 here, people! Don't you know that Jesus cares about you? He offers you His refreshment to you, to revive and empower you to do His good work. Applying this situation to my writing, nah, I don't feel like it. It was nice having the old ones to send out, because I didn't have to do anything! All I did was copy, paste, and click send! Easy as pie. But the Lord says, YOU ARE NOT FINISHED WITH THIS WORK. I AM NOT FINISHED WITH SPEAKING THROUGH YOU. I WILL REFRESH YOUR SOUL, BUT YOU MUST CRUCIFY YOUR FLESH, AND FOLLOW ME!

I think He has that message for all of us today. Sure we get tired, and done in. We get weary of doing good, though the Bible commands that we shouldn't. Oh, Lord, what have You to do with us? We are WEAK, but YOU are STRONG. Fill us this hour, Lord. Strengthen us. Give us a renewed commitment for You. Set us on holy fire for You again. Just as You gave meat to Elijah when Jezebel was chasing him, so You will be faithful to attend to our needs as well. He was ready to give up, but You revived him. Not once, but TWICE. And so for us. Touch us, feed us, and in Your strength alone may we go the great journey, following in Your footsteps. Thank You, Lord.

There are many more to be saved, and how will they know, except they hear? And how will they HEAR, except we be SENT? We are the only Bible most will read, folks, and if you don't "wanna," then you need to have a good knee-bound conversation with the King of kings!

Wake up! The time is short. We have much to do, and so little daylight left. Do as He says, and He will bless you. Make your Father proud today!

Lord God, thank You. Thank You for speaking to hearts today. Thank You for using me here. I admit I was becoming lazy. But You are merciful and kind, and when I repented, you gave me refreshing waters to revive my soul. We are Elijahs in an evil world, Lord God, and only You can bring us through, to serve You, to please You, and to heap up riches in heaven, which can never be destroyed. Let our light shine before men, Lord God, and let it not grow dim; for You are the Author and Finisher of our faith, and You WILL finish the good work You began in us. Lord, how I praise You for Your tender mercies. Thank You for using me. In Jesus' Name, amen.

"U"

Before U were thought of or time had begun,  God placed U in the name of His Son.

Each time U pray, you'll see it's true  You can't spell out JesUs and not include U.

You're a pretty big part of His wonderful name.  For U, He was born; that's why He came.

His great love for U is the reason He died.   It even takes U to spell crUcified.

Isn't it thrilling and splendidly grand, He rose from the dead, with U in His plan?

The stones split away, the gold trUmpet blew, and the word resUrrection is spelled with a U.

When JesUs left earth in His upward ascension, He felt there was one thing He just had to mention.

"Go into the world and tell them it's true that I love them all - Just as I love U."

So many great people are spelled with a U; don't they have a right to know JesUs too?

It all depends now on what U will do; He'd like them to know, but it all starts with U.
